Chembuds

It is found that young school students are unaware of the scope and opportunities in the field of basic science and hence they are reluctant to pursue a career in the field of basic sciences like chemistry, physics, etc. The Department of Chemistry has started an innovative programme, ‘chembuds’, in the academic year 2013-14 which aims at attracting highly talented plus two students to degree course in Chemistry and hence paving a way to novel researches in the subject. ‘Chembuds’ intent to organize seminars, workshops, debate  and other attractive programmes for young talented higher secondary students to make them aware about the width and depth of science subjects and to develop an interest  to take up degree courses in basic sciences and after higher education come up as a young scientist.
