The Central library Established in1981, is primarily concerned with the conservation and dissemination of Knowledge to its users. It plays an important role in the provision of information to the Academic community in the college. It has a collection of about fifteen thousand books and subscribes to 59 periodicals and 13 newspapers. The Library follows the “Anglo American Cataloging Rule” for cataloging and “Dewey Decimal Scheme of Classification” for the classification of books. The central library is fully automated.
Library started functioning in the year 1981 with modest facility. It began with a few books & periodicals for the pre- degree students and staff. With the introduction of various UG and PG courses, the library has also grown in tandem over all expansion .The library started getting UGC assistance only in 2005. The library shifted to a spacious new building in 2007. The new building is functional and modular in construction. It has an area of 1059.69 msq. In two floors – Ground floor and upper ground floor.
The ground floor houses News paper reading section, Circulation section, reprographic (Photocopying section), Technical section, General reading Area, Periodical section, catalogue section, Stack area ,book bank section, new arrival displaying section, Librarians cabin, property counter ,and toilet etc.

The periodicals are the major reading and reference sources for the college students. The library subscribes to 59 periodicals in different disciplines. This includes English and Malayalam publications
This section maintains good collections of reference sources that include Encyclopedias, Handbooks, Dictionaries, Multilingual dictionaries, Reports, Theses, etc. The question papers of the examinations conducted by the university in previous years also are made available in this section.
There are 100 books in the Book Bank section of the Central Library .Text books are loaned to the students as per their requirements for long periods.
The Library offers online public access catalogue-(OPAC) a computerized catalogue service. Most of the books in the library are bar coded. This helps the circulation counter in issue and return of books quickly. Members are given bar - coded ID cards and books are issued on producing the I D cards. Book magic is the software used in the library for its automated activities.
The following computer facilities are made available in the central library. 14 Computer systems, 1 Printer and 1 Scanner are also made available for the staff and students .
The internet center in the library caters to the needs of the campus community. It provides E mail and other web based information services to its members. 10 students can use the facilities at a time.

Membership can be availed by applying in the prescribed application form. The application forms can be had in the Circulation Section of the Library. Each student should get readers tickets from the circulation section. Along with the application form two latest passport size photograph are also to be submitted
The circulation section performs the issue and return of documents, renewal of loan period, collection of fine for delayed return of books and membership management functions. Loan period of Books can be renewed by sending a request to the Librarian, specifying the membership number and accession numbers of the documents to be renewed. Book lending service is provided to all the members of the library.
A degree student is entitled to get three books and PG student six at a time. Teaching staff are entitled to get ten books and non teaching staff five books. A book is issued for a period of fourteen days and it can be renewed for further two terms.
The Library provides photocopying facilities permitted within the copyright rules. University Question papers of previous years andSyllabi of various courses can also be photocopied from the library.
The College Library provides Audio-Visual facility to the students by using LCD Projector. Total seating capacity of the Audio-Visual Theatre is 50 at a time.
